Gobi Unveiled — 5-Day Expedition
Day 1. Drive to Dalanzadgad
Welcome to Mongolia! Your adventure begins as we pick you up directly from your hotel and drive you to Dalanzadgad, located in the heart of the South Gobi. Due to maintenance work at the local airport, the South Gobi Airport may not be operational in June, so we recommend traveling by car. On the way, you’ll enjoy lunch at a scenic spot. After arriving in Dalanzadgad, check in to a cozy guest house for some rest. Dinner will be served at the guest house, providing a traditional Mongolian experience.
Day 2. Yol Valley & Khongor Sand dunes
Today, we explore the beautiful Yol Valley, a picturesque gorge surrounded by cliffs. Known for its stunning landscapes and wildlife, this valley is a perfect destination for a short hike and horse riding. Afterward, we head to the Khongor Sand Dunes, one of the largest sand dunes in the Gobi Desert. Enjoy a thrilling camel ride across the dunes to further explore the area.
Day 3. Bayanzag Flaming cliff
We’ll visit Bayanzag, famously known as the Flaming Cliffs, which is a rich site of dinosaur fossils. As you walk through this breathtaking location, you’ll see red sandstone cliffs glowing under the sunlight, and learn about the fascinating history of dinosaur discoveries. It’s a highlight for both history enthusiasts and nature lovers.
Day 4. Tsagaan suvraga cliff & Baga gazriin chuluu
Today’s journey takes us to the Tsagaan Suvraga, a remarkable white cliff formation. The cliffs, also called the "White Stupa," stand tall and majestic, offering a view that is both surreal and unforgettable. Afterward, we head to Baga Gazriin Chuluu, another impressive rock formation, before visiting a local nomadic family. You’ll experience traditional Mongolian hospitality and gain insight into the nomadic lifestyle, learning about their customs, food, and way of life.
Day 5. Back to Ulaanbaatar
After a wonderful adventure through the Gobi Desert, it’s time to head back to Ulaanbaatar. Enjoy the scenic drive back to the capital, where you can reflect on your experiences in the vast landscapes of Mongolia. Your journey concludes as you are dropped off at your hotel in Ulaanbaatar.
